Reported by ISNA from Hamedan province, “Baba Ali Iron ore mine” is located 35 kms from Hamedan. The Iron excavated is magnetite and has 41% of Fe. Since the Fe is low and sulfur is high in the product of this mine, it is only consumed as the raw material for Iron ore concentrate production mill of Asad Abad.
Mr. Tarudian, deputy of operation and assessment of Hamedan’s department of ministry of industry, mining and commerce reinstated that there were 280 of active mines in Hamden and fully operated by private sector, and they had 20 million Mts of nominal excavation.
“ There are 13 to 14 million Mts of excavations really happening in Hamden,” he added. “ there have been myriads of slanders against mining through newspapers and magazines, focusing on regional conflicts emancipated from environmental issues.”
Mr. Tarudian also said that 600000 Mts of the Iron ore were used by Saba Noor. “There are 5 mines in Hamedan and their products were exported without any added value,” he mentioned. “ however, steel producers are using from the Iron ore to produce more semi and finished products.”
